Maximize On-Site Power Without Emissions Bottleneck
Deploy more capacity, faster—without triggering Major Source Review. MPI solution offers the maximum allowable on-site generation based on your facility’s EPA designation and local air quality thresholds.
Powered by a native ultra-low NOx gas turbine, we offer the highest deployable capacity in the U.S.—minimizing permitting complexity and accelerating timelines for data center development.
The following graph illustrates the maximum deployable capacity using the MPI solution across different EPA regions and zoning classifications—highlighting where your site stands and how much power you can install without crossing regulatory thresholds.

MetisCore™ Data Center Power Solution
The MetisCore™ design allows for rapid deployment without expensive or disruptive modifications to your existing electrical infrastructure. It provides complete operational flexibility by functioning in the following key modes:
- Bridge Power: For facilities waiting on a utility connection, this mode provides immediate, primary power to seamlessly carry the entire site load, eliminating costly delays.
- Primary Microgrid: Serves as the permanent, primary power source for your behind-the-meter microgrid, providing long-term energy independence and resilience.
- Grid-Parallel Mode: Works in tandem with your existing utility to strategically reduce high energy costs and peak demand charges, while also offering supplemental capacity.

Solution Benefits
With selectable voltage outputs of 34.5kV, 13.8kV, or 4.16kV, our solution connects directly to your medium-voltage infrastructure without altering your original data center design.
Our solution accelerates permitting by ensuring the power plant’s emissions stay below the “major source” thresholds, which are the primary trigger for lengthy and complex reviews. This is achieved through our MPG units’ ultra-low emissions of less than 9 ppm NOx untreated (<2 ppm treated). For sites in Attainment Areas, these low emissions allow for significant deployment—up to 260 MW—while staying below the 250 TPY threshold that triggers a Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) review. This advantage is even more critical in Non-Attainment Areas, where regulations are much stricter. In these zones, our technology allows you to build out the maximum possible power density on-site without triggering the more stringent and costly requirements. In both scenarios, the result is a faster, more predictable path to securing your permit to operate.
Our modular solution allows you to meet your precise uptime target, from 99.9% to 99.999%. Individual power block size is selected to minimize excess capacity, which saves on initial project costs (CAPEX). Instead of relying on simplistic N+1 or N+2 redundancy, we use probabilistic modeling to calculate and guarantee the exact reliability your mission-critical infrastructure demands.
Our MPG power generation units are designed for maximum availability with a major overhaul interval of 40,000 hours. To ensure zero operational downtime during this service, we can perform a full core turbine swap in under 48 hours. This allows your data center to continue running uninterrupted while the original turbine undergoes its overhaul offsite.
Gas turbines operate at their highest fuel efficiency when running at or near their full load capacity. Operating them at a partial load to match lower power demands is inefficient and consumes more fuel per megawatt-hour produced, which directly increases operating costs. The METIS data centers power solution is engineered to avoid this inefficiency through its modular design. By dispatching individual gas turbines as needed, our system ensures that each running unit operates close to its full-load setpoint, minimizing inefficient partial load operation. This strategy significantly reduces fuel consumption and directly lowers overall OPEX—a critical advantage given that fuel is often the largest portion of operating expenses.
Traditional power infrastructure is a fixed asset tied to a single property. Our solution is engineered as a self-contained, transportable unit, which reclassifies it as a movable capital asset. This distinction provides significant financial advantages, including improved risk management (assets can be redeployed), flexibility in long-term site strategy, and benefits for financial modeling and depreciation that are not possible with fixed infrastructure.
Forcing a traditional thermal power unit into a fast-start places immense stress on the equipment, shortening its lifespan and increasing maintenance costs. The METIS Microgrid is engineered to eliminate this damaging tradeoff.
Upon startup, our integrated MPS units supply the initial load in sub-seconds, creating a seamless power buffer. This allows the main MPG units to ramp up to their optimal speed safely and without thermal stress. This synergy provides true fast-start capability with response times tailored to your needs—a critical advantage for demanding industries where performance and long-term asset health are paramount.
Conventional thermal engines, particularly gas turbines operating at high temperatures, are susceptible to damage from the thermal stress of frequent shutdowns and restarts.
A key differentiator of the MPG product line is its unique design, engineered to withstand daily cycling without compromising the turbine’s operational life. This durability is critical for applications with fluctuating loads, such as data centers. It allows individual units to be taken offline during low demand, ensuring the remaining turbines operate near 100% capacity. This strategy drastically improves load management while reducing both fuel consumption and total emissions
MetisShield™ Power Solution
The MetisShield™ Microgrid Solution is an end-to-end data center power solution platform engineered for ultimate performance. It masterfully combines the power of our Metis Power Generation (MPG) with the fast-acting capabilities of Metis Power Storage (MPS). This synergy provides absolute protection from failures or power quality issues, regardless of their origin—whether from the grid or your own on-site generation. Engineered for today’s high-density computing, MetisShield™ has the precision to handle dynamic power loads, responding to fluctuations in less than 20ms. This ultra-fast response significantly decreases stress on UPS systems and can significantly reduce the UPS deployed capacity in the data center.

Solution Benefits
Engineered in direct response to the evolving needs of modern data centers, MetisShield incorporates all the trusted benefits of our MetisCore technology while introducing critical new features. It is designed for superior response times and is fully compatible with the latest DC distribution standards (400VDC, 600VDC, and 800VDC), making it the ideal solution for next-generation facilities.
Modern AI and GPU-intensive data centers create massive and rapid power load fluctuations. Traditionally, facilities rely on their battery-based Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems to absorb these swings and stabilize voltage. This strategy, however, places the UPS under constant stress from frequent cycling, which shortens its operational life and leads to costly, frequent replacements.
MetisShield is engineered for a superior dynamic load response, capable of instantly counteracting fluctuations of up to 50% of the data center’s total power. Its sub-10-millisecond response is well within the 20ms threshold defined by the ITIC curve (CBEMA), achieving two critical goals. First, it shields the UPS from the damaging effects of constant cycling, significantly extending its lifespan. Second, it delivers the stable, high-quality voltage essential for protecting the most sensitive GPUs and other IT hardware.
The MetisShield is engineered to deliver power at newer facility-ready voltages (480V AC, 400V DC, 600V DC, and 800V DC). This enables a direct connection to your data center’s internal power busway, completely eliminating the expense, footprint, and complexity of large step-down transformers.
